UT Southern Life Safety Upgrades

Pulaski, Tennessee

Protecting Students Through Modern Infrastructure

As part of the University of Tennessee Southern’s ongoing commitment to maintaining a safe and modern campus, Brindley Construction completed comprehensive life safety upgrades across multiple academic and student facilities. The project strengthened critical building systems while supporting the university’s long-term infrastructure needs.

The project involved comprehensive improvements to the campus fire protection and life safety infrastructure. Existing fire alarm systems were modernized with new detection devices, notification appliances, and associated control equipment to provide improved monitoring and occupant notification throughout each building. Fire suppression systems were also upgraded to enhance fire protection and support current life safety standards. In addition to the life safety improvements, Brindley completed electrical upgrades that included new interior and exterior lighting, electrical distribution improvements, raceways, wiring, grounding, and panelboard modifications necessary to support the upgraded systems. Select architectural improvements, including doors, hardware, railings, masonry, painting, and related finish work, were incorporated to accommodate the new installations and restore affected spaces.
